Mermaid’s Tale Earrings
These 2″ long earrings feature cascading clusters of gems, pearls, and coral underneath swirling silver waves. Each gem and pearl was carefully selected with an eye for quality and to create a color palette reminiscent of sea shallows. The waves and frames were crafted from sterling silver and then meticulously wire wrapped together with strands of ultra-thin fine silver.
GEMSTONES
- Creamy white keishi pearls
- Sweet salmon pink coral
- Rich blue-violet tanzanite
- Deep green vesuvianite
- Ethereal mint green prehnite
The ear wires were hand-forged from sterling silver. The silver has been lightly oxidized and then polished to highlight the intricate wire work.
Earrings Galore
My tumbler belt broke last week and I couldn’t find the replacement that I just KNOW is around here somewhere …. grrr. Anyway, I had to order replacements and while waiting for them to arrive, I created a few new projects. I don’t consider any of my work to be photographable until is is completely finished, and that includes tumbling in most cases. I want to ensure every photograph I take of my jewelry is an accurate as possible representation.
Just like I had to tumble them all at once, I will post them all at once. So without further ado, here are my latest earring designs:
New Tutorial – Bejeweled Hoop Earrings
In this tutorial you will learn how to make a beautiful pair of hoop earrings bejeweled with a menagerie of beads inside. This design is not only versatile, it’s not too difficult or time consuming to create. It’s also great for utilizing those few random beads leftover from other projects. Very handy indeed!
Once you have learned the technique demonstrated in this tutorial, you can make hoop earrings of any diameter you wish using colors that suit whatever mood, clothing, or occasion you desire. The possibilities are endless!

New Rings
I realized that from the time I started my jewelry business, I’ve made dozens of earrings, pendants, necklaces, and a few bracelets, but only one ring! I decided to sequester myself in my studio and not emerge until I had at least one new ring design. I came up with the Margherita (Italian for daisy.)
It is made from sterling silver, wire wrapped in fine silver and bejeweled with a little amethyst and pink pearl daisy-like gem cluster. The wrapping around the band forms a pattern for more visual interest.
I also created this bypass ring, Peacock Paisley, which is another version of the ring I made previously. This one is bejeweled with blue sapphire, emerald, amethyst and black garnet.
I simply adore paisley patterns. The swirling, almost Tao-like fluidity is mesmerizing. It’s not surprising that I would create paisley-inspired pieces.
Effervescence Cuff Bracelet
And now for something a little different. A lot of my wire designs are on the delicate side. This one adorns a solid sterling silver cuff bracelet. I embellished the bracelet with a fine silver wire wrapped design and bejeweled with shimmering silver and white pearls and sweet pastel pink rose quartz. I oxidized and then polished this bracelet to showcase the wire work and add a little drama. Substantial yet delicate and feminine in appearance. Definitely a one-of-a-kind.
Dancing Flame Earrings
I needed a break from super-intricate uber long projects. I wanted to create something that’s simply beautiful and beautifully simple. I really liked the necklace I made for the giveaway so I decided to make a pair of earrings using the same shape.
These are made of sterling silver swirls wrapped in ultra thin fine silver wire form the shape of a flickering flame. From the bottom dangle scintillating and intense deep-orange padparadscha sapphire briolettes.
These earrings feature handmade ear wires and they’ve been oxidized and polished to showcase the texture of the wire work and add a little drama.
Moonstruck Necklace
This necklace features intricate and intertwined wire work embellished with an applique of shimmering pearls, and adorned with dazzling blue topaz gemstones. My muse has been nagging me to create jewelry that’s appropriate for bridal wear. I finally listened to her and this is the result — an elegant “something blue” for a bridal ensemble.
